After 5 years of customers asking if we have a replacement cartridge, we finally have one. The flood of cheap knock offs have no real life expectancy. In fact, there is no way to tell them apart from the OEM cartridge. We were not content with business as usual. It seems wasteful to throw away a cartridge every 3 or 4 months, so why not make one that lasts longer? The Scepter II is designed for a minimum lifespan of 1 year. Because of constant inquiries, we decided to release it now with a 6 month warranty and bump it up to 1 year after more time in the field. On paper, it should last longer than 1 year and we have several in the field being tested by real hot tub owners, so far, with good success.

The FW Salt System is similar with a few changes. We have made The Scepter II to perform better by using a different plate design and high quality plate coatings.

Unlike the OEM & Cheap Knock Offs, THE SCEPTER II Cartridge is designed to last longer.Experience shows us that as the cell wears, it often indicates a low salt level. When the cell is replaced, the control panel will often say to call for service UNTIL SALT IS DISSOLVED, water is at least 95 degrees AND IN THE 1750PPM SALT RANGE.
Physical damage to cell or excessive calcium buildup is not covered under warranty. All salt cells need occasional cleaning by soaking in white vinegar when scale buildup is noticeable.
Using phosphate remover will help extend cell life if you have phosphates. You may need to lower the output level. My personal tub which is 350 gallons struggled to keep up on level 8 with the factory & cheap replacement cartridges and I now use level 6. All scenarios are different so adjust yours as needed. Testing on other tubs indicate lowering 1-2 levels is a good place to start.
WARRANTY CLAIMS ARE NO HASSLE BUT REQUIRES RMA & RETURN OF CELL. WARRANTY TIME STARTS 2 WEEKS AFTER SHIPPING DATE. MOST PROBLEMS CAN BE ADDRESSED OVER THE PHONE OR EMAIL. IN THE EVENT A CELL IS FOUND DEFECTIVE, A NEW ONE WILL BE SENT IN 1-3 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER RECEIPT OF OLD CELL.
